Popular Filipino-Australian singer, musical performer and actor RJ Rosalespassed away in Sydney yesterday morning. Details of his untimely death have to beconfirmed, but at this stage his family has asked to respect their privacy asthey mourn the loss of their son.

Rosales, whose real name is Roseo Jose Rosales, first gained fame as a memberof an ensemble cast of Miss Saigon back in 1996. Thereafter, he travelled toSingapore and the Philippines, where he later starred in the movie TogetherForever with Carol Banawa. He became a household name in the Philippines whenhe joined variety television show ASAP. The hard-working singer will leavebehind a legacy as a successful Australian talent gone too soon.

Miss namiss ka na ni Ate Divine. Magkikita tayo in 2 days. Basta magkikita tayo. Ilove you bunso. I miss you.”

Thesewere the last words I’ve heard last night from Ate Divine. After months of nottalking and a year of not seeing each other, she surprisingly called me. Ican’t even butt in ‘cuz she kept on whispering “I love you … I miss you” duringthat 3-min call. I can sense the sincerity of her words. Much more when hervoice started to crack before she bid her last goodbye.

Weusually talk for hours that it became a challenge for us to end ourconversation. We talk about almost everything … anything under the sun. Ourfriendship is too strong that it endures long distances and quiet moments. Wealways make it a point to stay in touch and should we fail, we understand thesilence. Though we rarely see each other, our friendship grows in time … evenbetter.

“I miss you, Bunso. Ilove you” Love ka ni Ate Divine.” Who would ever think that this is going to beher last words? She never said “Goodbye”. That manifests how well she knows me.I hate Goodbyes ‘cuz there’s really no good in it. And of all words, this hurtsthe most. But in the absence of this, after she left, it doesn’t only hurt … itkills me.

“I miss you, Ate Divine” … the last message she might have heard from me. But this time, it’s different … now it’s forever. She promised she’s not going anywhere … but she did. And there’s no way for me to get her back. All I was left now are memories to look back. It will take me a lifetime to miss Ate Divine.

Former Philippine President GloriaArroyo is now under arrest forthe unbailable crime of electoral sabotage.

The informationfiled states that on or before May 14, 2007, Arroyo, Ampatuan, and Bedol“conspiring, confederating, and willfully helping one another in order toensure a ’12-0’ victory for the candidates of ‘Team Unity’ did then and therewillfully, feloniously and unlawfully tamper the Provincial Certificates ofCanvass of Votes” in Maguindanao.

Theinformation said this was done after a meeting in Malacanang by thethree a few days before election where Arroyo personally instructedAmpatuan to ensure a “12-0” victory form candidates of Team Unity.

Ampatuan, in turn,the Information further stated, instructed Bedol , then the chairman of theProvincial Board of Canvassers in Maguindanao, to tamper the provincialcertificate of canvass (PCOC), statement of votes by municipality (SOVM) ,summary of the statement of vote (SSOV).

Electoral sabotageis punishable by life imprisonment.

SPD chief FranklinBucayu confirmed that these mugshots were taken by the Criminal Investigationand Detection Group of the Philippine National Police last Saturday.

Christmas is just around the corner … and so are themalevolent criminals who take advantage of this season to stage their modus operandi.

Just a couple ofhours ago, I fell in a trap of what they called “Laslas Bag Gang” while inside the bus on my way to work. Iam thoroughly aware that these delinquents loom around the metro waiting for noparticular victim. This time though, it’sME. This happened in broaddaylight.

My bag was slashed using a small razor sharp blade. I am totally oblivious during this timewhich I guess took only 10 minutes. Theexecutor used a large bag on his lap enough to cover his hand while lacerating the fabric.

He actually caught my attention because hewas too uneasy. But considering his get-up (barong and dress pants), no onewould think of him as a crook. I have been so cynical to people especially inpublic places. Argh, I should have followed my instincts.

Luckily, my phonesand wallet were secured on a pouch inside. Nothing was snatched but he left quitea sizeable hole in my bag.

Sobe careful pedestrians!

Payspecial attention to your bag, case, wallet etc. when travelling. Be mindful ofthe surroundings, even to your sensations.

I realized only recently how easily I dismiss my own misgivings. The major misgivings I tone down, telling myself inside, "Nay-it's not that bad-get over it." In no time, I forgive myself. It is so easy to fool myself that that is being compassionate to myself when actually it is a spiritually unhealthy suppression of healthy conscience. When roles are reversed, our attitudes often reverse. When someone lets us down in some way, we might magnify this misgiving and hang on to it, grumbling and cursing them inside. Forgiving, not to say forgetting, becomes hard. It seems that he who forgives himself the easiest is sometimes one who forgives others the hardest. This twisted attitude pivots upon the ego. It makes us too quick to judge others and too slow to check ourselves. The path to perfection would be to give ourselves no excuses when we go wrong while keeping an open mind, "giving reasonable excuses" to why others go wrong.

This reminds me of the often quoted "Look not at the deeds left done and undone by others; but look at the deeds left done and undone by oneself." This means holding a mirror to oneself, constantly reflecting on one's conduct; not holding it out to face others all the time to show them their misgivings. I feel that there is much meaning in this verse because we are already too often unmindful to check our own thoughts, words and deeds. The more time you spend having your vigilant eye on others, passing unconstructive judgment of contempt, the more you are not being mindful of yourself. There are few ways to go off track so easily.

If we already have trouble holding just one single pure thought, how can we keep holding impure thoughts about others? So do we keep quiet when others are "obviously wrong?" Not necessarily, the moment someone else presents before us a misgiving, we should reflect whether we make the same mistake before correcting him. And any "correction" should be apt and constructive, compassionately offered with no hatred or grudge. Remember-no one is faultless. It is the continual seeing of faults in others, missing one's own, that become a fault in itself.

What is Power Leveling?

Power leveling is the term used to describe the process of leveling a character as rapidly as possible with the least amount of play time.

FishVille Main Strategy in getting the most of your experience points is by raising your fish to junior level 1 and quickly selling them as soon as they mature to that status. Another reason to remember is that you also get XP when you buy a fish.

Here’s an example:

Shy Hamlet

Buying XP: 18xp
Growth: 4 hours
Junior 1: 89 coins, 60xp
Junior 2: 178 coins, 120xp

Power Level Trick where you buy the fish(18xp)->raise to level 1->sell(60xp)->re-buy eggs(18xp) = 96xp Total 4 hours = (24xp per hr)

If you wait and sell, you buy the fish(18xp)->raise to level 2->sell(120xp)->re-buy eggs(18xp) = 156xp Total 8 hours = (19.5xp per hr)

The Fastest XP per hour is the Power Level Option. However if you want to effectively power level you have to be available to feed your fish almost every 15 minutes and have time put away to kill because if you pass the time to feed the fish your fish will die.

Power Level 1-8 Guide

Check the Fish Chart here and you will see the fastest xp per hour fish is the Mini Dart Goby with 78xp per hour. However keep in mind you MUST BE READY to feed your fish every 5-10min max or they will die. So in 1 hour you have to check in and feed your fish at least 6 times, 12 times for 2 hours and etc.

If you have time to kill, stick with the GOBY as they are the fastest to get you to level.

Sleep: When you go to sleep buy the Shy Hamlet

Power level 8-14 Guide

At this point you can still keep doing the GOBY strategy or you can buy the Blue Green Chromis during the day for 17xp per hour and Percula Clownfish when you sleep for 21.93xp per hour.

Power Level 14-33+ Guide

Again buying GOBY is still the best xp per hour however it is very time consuming.

At this point, level 14 you have the option of buying Inland Silverside 26xp per hour for during the day and still keeping Percula Clownfish when you sleep.

Level 33 you can buy Bartlett Anthias for 22.66xp per hour and replace Inland Silverside.

Mess around, Dust it up!

I don't want it to be such that I came into this world to mess it up. There is a place for everything and everything should be in its place.

We both come into this world and make a difference or we don't. A life that makes no difference is rather pointless; and the differences we can make are either for the better or worse of the world. Every time I enter a world that is "not mine," such as someone's home, any place that is not my home, I try to take the effort not to mess it up in any way. I don't want to make any mess of any form anywhere in this world or the next.

To not create a mess is clearing up your own personal mess. My personal mess is my collection of bad habits from my greed, hatred and ignorance harmful to myself (others not involved-I already told you I try hard not to mess up others' lives in any way!).

I also try in helping others to realize their personal mess and the messes they are creating in the world, helping them learn to clear it all up.

If we were to all clear up our personal mess, and help each other do the same, there would be no mess left.

We all mess around ... Who's not? Just dust it up!

Western Philippine Fault (Luzon Sea, Mindoro Strait, Panay Gulf, Sulu Sea)
Eastern Philippine Fault (Philippine Sea)
Southern of Mindanao Fault (Moro Gulf, Celebes Sea)
Central Philippine Fault (Entire Ilocos Norte, Aurora, Quezon, Masbate, Eastern Leyte, Southern Leyte, Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Davao del Norte)

Of these, the MARIKINA VALLEY FAULT poses the greatest danger because it cuts through all the modern and progressive portions of Manila such as Eastwood, Rockwell, Ortigas Center, Bonifacio Global City, Ayala Center, and Alabang. Also, the PhiVolcs people have warned that this fault line can move anytime because it is already “11 years late” for its movement.

The Philippines is in the Pacific ring of fire,there are so many Major Faults in the country, and we have to trenches surrounding both sides of our country the first one is located at the South China Sea and the other one is called the Philippine trench which is located at the right side of our country, facing the pacific ocean.

*The 1990 earthquake that destroyed Central Luzon and Baguio is also the Central Philippine Fault.

 WHICH COULD CAUSE WIDESPREAD DAMAGE. AUTHORITIES SHOULD TAKE
 APPROPRIATE ACTION IN RESPONSE TO THIS THREAT. THIS CENTER WILL
 CONTINUE TO MONITOR SEA LEVEL DATA TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT AND
 SEVERITY OF THE THREAT.

 A TSUNAMI IS A SERIES OF WAVES AND THE FIRST WAVE MAY NOT BE THE
 LARGEST. TSUNAMI WAVE HEIGHTS CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND CAN VARY
 SIGNIFICANTLY ALONG A COAST DUE TO LOCAL EFFECTS. THE TIME FROM
 ONE TSUNAMI WAVE TO THE NEXT CAN BE FIVE MINUTES TO AN HOUR, AND
 THE THREAT CAN CONTINUE FOR MANY HOURS AS MULTIPLE WAVES ARRIVE.

 FOR ALL AREAS - WHEN NO MAJOR WAVES ARE OBSERVED FOR TWO HOURS
 AFTER THE ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL OR DAMAGING WAVES HAVE NOT

The 5 Senses are our sense of touch, feeling, hearing, seeing, and tasting. Among these 5, I have observed that a technique on how to overcome impulse buying can be done by shutting down at least 3 of these senses.

The Sense of Touch - Overcome impulse buying by shutting down the sense of touch. What I mean is that once you see a wonderful jewelry or clothes... Do not touch it! Do not wear it! If you do, you will be under its spell and you will impulsively buy!

The Sense of Sight -Just like any man could fall into the beauty of a beautiful lady by looking her in the eyes... Stop staring! I know, I know... Those gadgets, the LCD or LED TV that you see in the mall are so shiny and has a 1080p resolution, so clear that you could watch a Blu-ray movie on it all day... I noticed that when I first bought my laptop more than a year ago... I easily felt disappointed because I kept looking at more powerful and latest laptops. Stop being around these things especially if you already have one. Stop looking is my number 2 tip on how to stop impulse buying.

The Sense of Smell - This is for those who could not abstain themselves over food or perfume. Don't you notice that sometimes we don't feel hungry and then suddenly a colleague passes by with a good smelling, freshly grilled burger and then suddenly you think that you're hungry? Ok, you were hungry and you just remembered it. Fine... But the point is, if you can avoid such situations then you can abstain yourself from buying and overcome impulse buying.

1. We, human beings actually pay money to scare the hell out of ourselves. We seek the thrills of terrifying roller-coasters and horror movies and mistake them as the highs of extreme happiness.

2. We fall in love madly with total strangers, even movie stars, and forget that those around us who we think we knew too tiresomely well are the ones who are willing to lay their lives for us out of love. Yes, I'm referring to the true boundless love of parents that goes beyond most love. We might pay to see our idols perform without hesitation while having second thoughts about giving more allowance to our parents for their well being.

3. We eat hot, exotic spicy food and turn our stomachs inside out with fire, sweat like mad as we pant and pant and feel that was "real good!" While this happens, the yearning for the coolness of peace of mind has no place in one's mind! The food is too good to be true-at that moment. We often would rather go for such a meal than be at peace!

4. The idea of a terrific good time can be drinking till dead-drunk and vomiting all over the place despite the inevitability of a horrible hellish hangover the next morning.

There are countless absurd "upside downs" in us all. The process of cultivation is thus the "reversing of our reversed natures" to its true upright nature!

We need to be flipped over! We are ordinary people depending on how you look at it.

PECULIAR TRAITS OF PINOYS

Filipinos are among the most relaxed and fun-loving people you will ever meet around the globe. It is hard to accurately describe what makes every day a lesson in glee or what others aptly regard as a ‘carnival of lunacy’, which is on continual display in a myriad of ways. Every single day offers something new to savor, and a new oddity to laugh about. From a “you-tube” worth mishap to a faintly laid-back tuning in to a daily television show that features contestant’s amazing struggles in the swirling current of daily life, this enigmatic country is full of contradictions and they are a pleasure to explore.

I take satisfaction in these mundane, but life-learning peculiarities, knowing full well that they are now a part of me as I travel through wherever life takes me. Let me share you some of these small quirks and funny moments.

Our eyebrow speaks …

The eyebrows usually convey emotion through various facial expressions. By raising our eyebrows we can also communicate a positive affirmation of "yes" when a polar question has been asked. Henceforth, if a Filipino or Filipina fails to verbally answer your question, look at their eyebrows before feeling like you were being ignored. They may just be answering you non-verbally through the raising of their eyebrows. In addition, raising eyebrows accompanied with strong eye contact can also serve as a greeting or farewell to an individual you cannot physically touch.

Our lips give directions …

Consider this as another non-verbal expression performed by Filipinos. By puckering our lips and facing a certain direction, we are giving clear and specific instruction on which way to go. Instead of wasting physical energy by lifting our arm/hand to point, we conserve energy by using our puckered lips.

“It’s Ok.” – What?

These two simple words can cause a rash of confusion. “It’s Ok” in the Philippines means everything from “yes” to “no” to “don’t even think about it” – with absolutely no way to discern which one is intended in a particular situation. Therefore, it challenges one’s own prudence. Say for instance, if you ask someone if they want something, you’ll get the response, “It’s Ok!” Likewise if you ask if you can go somewhere, you’ll receive the answer, “It’s Ok!” And try asking whether anyone was hurt and you’ll hear, “It’s Ok”. You would think that you’d be able to discern the appropriate sentiment given the context, right? Think again. You absolutely cannot.

Food Craze … Why is there a food at every gathering?

Whether it is a lavish party or just an informal meeting, Filipinos express their hospitality & friendship through the serving of food. The more grandiose the cuisine, the more 'love' they are trying to convey to those at the gathering. Instead of asking, 'How are you?' Filipinos will ask, "Have you eaten already?' Or better yet, “Have you eaten enough?”

Offering Food and Declining the Offer – Which is which?

“Kain!” (Let’s eat!) This is how Filipinos acknowledge anyone who stumbles upon a flock of Filipinos eating. This is our distinctive way of offering food to strangers and people we barely know. In fact, it could be a way of greeting someone while you’re eating. Instead of saying “Hello”, you say “Let’s eat!”

Now the thing that makes it a bit baffling is that it’s polite to offer to share your meal with a person, but, it is equally polite for the other person to decline the offer.

It makes me wonder “why offer in the first place if you don’t expect the other person to accept it?” Well in fact most people who get offered to eat decline the offer regardless if they’re starving or not.

To pull is to please – How sincere are we?

We are famous for being very hospitable and delightful to be with. In all modesty, I must say we are the warmest people one will ever meet. Due to our colonial history, we can be especially accommodating to Westerners that we come across. Filipinos always seek the company of another in everything we do and are seldom seen outside of social groups.

Given this friendly nature, we are not satisfied to just invite someone to join us by merely asking out loud. It is customary to emphasize the invitation by pulling at the invitee’s hand. This way, they’ll appreciate how sincerely they’re being invited. If they tug back they might be agreeing, or they might be just trying to get it away. Another example of the seeming ambiguity of the Filipino experience.

Paying for someone’s fare in a Jeepney – Who’s going to?

A jeepney is the primary mode of transport in the Philippines. It means sharing the two back benches of a jeepney (and any space between) with at least 20 other people. It might not always be comfortable but it’s cozy! One Filipino quirk that, thus far, has got me laughing silently is the instinct of bringing out your wallet and paying the fare of a friend who happens to be riding the jeep with you.

The scene in a jeepney when two friends collide is this. The one who is already on the jeep says greetings and exchanges pleasantries with the friend who has just got in, then they simultaneously ask each other “have you paid your fare?” and scramble to pay each other’s fare. A wrestling match of two pairs of hands giving money to the driver ensues as both insist that the other should keep his or her money. Taking this to an extreme scenario, if one doesn’t offer to pay for the other’s fare, he/she apologizes profusely and announces that he/she is sorry for not offering to pay your fare (for some reasons). Or at the very least, sports an ashamed look.

We Filipinos often find every thing a laughable concept, which certainly proves why we are amongst the happiest people in the world despite the ups and downs of our living situations. And there are a lot of peculiar traits and ways of interactions we unconsciously perform that makes us Uniquely Filipino. It was while proofreading this article that I had a good laugh because without us knowing about it, our habits and mannerisms really make us different from other nationalities. Like how we all turn around like curious kittens when we hear, “Pssst!”

Overall, the Filipino way of life is something that cannot be captured on a picture or limited to words on an article, it modestly cannot be. It is an experience. There are many strange and exciting things with peculiar twists at every turn. It is a never-ending discovery.

With a grin on my face, I ended up whispering myself … “It’s just the FILIPINO way“.

You gotta be kidding me!

It has been a week since my birthday and yet, I'm still amazed of how things are unfolding. After my team, my family and my friend's unprecedented surprises, here comes a very endearing present from my company.

Holy Week in the Philippines (Siniloan, Laguna)

PALM SUNDAY

In the Philippines, there are some places where a re-enactment of Jesus' triumphal entry occurs. The Catholic priest rides a horse and is surrounded by the congregation, bearing palms. Sometimes women spread large cloths or aprons along the procession route. Palm branches, called palaspas, are taken home after the Mass and are hung beside, on or above doorways and windows.

After the blessing of the palm branches, the people put the palm branches in front of their house. Although the real objective of placing the leaves in front of houses is to welcome Jesus Christ, some Filipinos say that the palm leaves turn away evil spirits.

GOOD FRIDAY

In the predominantly Roman Catholic Philippines, the day is commemorated with street processions, the Way of the Cross, and a Passion play called the Senakulo. The Church keeps the day solemn by not tolling the church bells, and no Mass will be celebrated.

The Catholic Church treats Good Friday as a fast day, which in the Latin Rite of the Church is understood as having only one full meal (but smaller than a regular meal) and two collations (a smaller repast, two of which together do not equal one full meal) and on which the faithful abstain from eating meat. In countries where Good Friday is not a day of rest from work, the afternoon liturgical service is usually put off until a few hours after the recommended time of 3 p.m.

Uniquely Singapore: Bugis Street, Orchard Road and River Hongbao (Day 5)

Kids at heart!

We’ve visited almost all of the tourist spots Singapore has to offer. All of our tickets have been used up. Without any scheduled itinerary for today, Ton decided to bring us to the shopping strips around the metro. We’ve started prepping up at 10:00 am. Finally, Kai and I were able to buy roasted duck and liempo at the store (Day 2) across the hostel. We would like to surprise Ton with this packed lunch (it was reversed; we’re the one surprised with his plans!) Boarded at Kallang Station around 12:15 on our way to Bugis Station in roughly 5 minutes! That was fast!

On our way, we dropped by a Tako Pachi stall at Bugis Junction.

Ton bought us 2 boxes of takoyaki. YumYum! The succulent and luscious octopus made me crave for more! I am beginning to fall for Japanese foods!

Now for our first stop, the largest and cheapest street market, Bugis.

As we go along the walkway, a kiwi fruit shake caught my attention. The frosty and creamy look of it was really tempting! I have never liked this fruit at all but for some peculiar reasons I pined for it. To my surprise, Ton bought one for me (I’m overjoyed like a kid). He then made Kai and Tia Baby have their pick. New to my taste bud, I didn’t like it at first. There’s no trace of sweetness; the more you sip, the soury it gets! I had a mouthful of it though.

At 1:00 pm, we had our lunch at a pavilion inside the market. We feast on our packed lunch, fruit shakes, and ais kacang (like halo halo) for dessert. After that, we immediately walked along an array of kiosks offering almost anything you could probably think of. Our sensed were caught by a smell of incense as we passed by a Chinese Temple.

This place is crowded even at noontime as it entices tourists to no end with bargains galore. Most of our souvenirs and memento were brought from here. And as my friend Apple coined, “It’s so Divisoria”.

I sneaked out as they shop just to take a picture of this extraordinarily intriguing booth.

We walked out of the busy Bugis Street by mid-afternoon. From City Hall Station, we rode via MRT towards Orchard Station.

We are now at our next stop, Singapore’s shopping haven, Orchard Road. This is the place for all shopaholics (oniomaniacs) where most of the new posh and elite malls are located.

We headed first to the ION Orchard Mall, this is an architectural masterpiece!

It caters to high-end shoppers, mostly top notch like Louis Vuitton (we’re able to get in without queuing), Cartier, Valentino and other world renowned brands like celebrity label Diane Von Furstenberg.

Another tempting spot caught my eye as soon as we got out of the mall. There’s an ice cream cart right outside ION! Yum Yum!

Not only do they offer a wide variety of flavours, you also get to choose from wafer or bread slice. Did I mention it’s an ice cream sandwich? Yeah! Without dilly-dallying, Ton bought us one apiece. Kai chose peppermint; Tia Baby picked her fave sweet corn and my delectable choice of honeydew! Our hearts melt as well.

Orchard Road is a long avenue “adorned” with malls! We travelled around each corner of the vicinity.

We’ve seen Ngee Ann City, Wisma Atria, Plaza Singapura, Lucky Plaza, The Centrepoint, Forum, Liat Towers and a lot more.

We’ve spent almost an hour at Zara for our ladies’ itch for clothes.

We left the strip around 6:30 pm, and now bound to River Hongbao. On our jaunt to Marina, while inside the bus, I sat next to a Singaporean (usually next to Malays and Indians). As we passed by SunTec City, she introduced me the “Fountain of Wealth”. Out of the blue, she shared me chronicles and history of Singapore; it’s culture, native, and future. It was really heartwarming knowing that she values our visit to her country. She even invited me to join her in watching Chingay Parade at the Marina Promenade and City Alive 2010 on the 20th. I can really sense her flattery and delight during our conversation. One really poignant indication happened at the bus stop, her group has been calling her and she doesn’t mind taking a heed. She had to wait for me to alight trailing meters away from them. It was really gratifying! Too bad though because we forgot to exchange a bit of personal information, not even our names. I just knew she’s a government employee. Tsk tsk … I could never forgive myself for this ungainly gesture! Sayang! Well, I’ll just see her at our crossroad.

At 7:05 pm, we’re at the Esplanade Park. We’re greeted with colorful lights and danceable music! Imagine Owl City’s Fireflies Singapore version! Hahaha! I can’t contain myself laughing!

The excitement, amazement and thrill filled our hearts as we roam around the promenade. There are breath taking and spine-tingling park rides of which I can’t dare trying. Kai was fearless enough to try the “flying fiesta” which was thrice faster than that of EK’s (Enchanted Kingdom).

Ton and Tia Baby unwaveringly persuades me to join Kai. I just can’t. I’m already ecstatic just to see it.

What a night! The sight, the sound and the multihued moving lanterns revved up the moods of Chingay to its highest ever! I can’t help but think of the lady who adoringly promoted it to me. To catch the glimpses of River Hongbao is such a diversion. (Misses Lola)

Went back to Marina Square Mall for our last supper at Singapore around 8:30 pm. We had our scrumptious dinner at MOS Burger, another Japanese restaurant.

Tia baby’s craving for burger were finally satiated when Ton bought her submarine burger, club sandwich and large iced tea at Subway.

Kai and I indulged ourselves with rice burgers (unagi and yakiniku) and clam chowder soup.

Another comical incident happened after this stop. Tia Baby, Ton and I left in cluster leaving Kakai behind (unintentionally). Kakai stayed at the Faceshop to do her nails. She’s so into it! The three of us leisurely walked on our way to the exit when we noticed Kakai was missing. And soon as I turned my head, I saw Kakai fretfully running in all her might to catch us (towards the other way). I had to holler at her! This was indisputably hilarious! As Kakai walked her way near to us, we burst out with laughters and tears! (It was very hard for me to recall every account after 3 weeks but this incident certainly won’t ever miss my memory).

We had an overwhelming Tuesday together.

Homebound around 10:00 pm for a predictably blurry night with mixed emotions. With our tired torso and resistful mind, we packed our luggage. Ton even helped us out (awww).

This was our last night here in Singapore. We’re so not looking forward for tomorrow.

Uniquely Singapore: Suntec City (Fountain of Wealth) and Night Safari (Day 4)

This day is utterly bizarre.

I have never thought to waken in silence. The past 3 mornings was full of laughter and excitement. Today, it was deafening!

I was caught oblivious of the happenings last night as I fell flat in bed soon as we arrived. Next to my bed was Kakai. Tia Baby was out of sight. I thought it will only take some minutes but an hour later, she’s not in yet. She had her breakfast alone for a reason I couldn’t comprehend. Kakai told me it was because of last night’s nostalgia. Our day should be starting at 1 pm; (ton’s) scolding and wooing (Tia baby) lasted for 2 hours. Our jokes didn’t sell; our pleas didn’t work as well. Who would have thought that a charming phrase “Kiss Me!” will end this act? Even Kai and I had to shed some tears to win Tia Baby’s heart.

So there, Ton fetched us at 2:30 pm. Each one behaved as if nothing happened.

We are now bound to Suntec City Mall.

After sauntering around an array of shopping spots, we had our sumptuous late lunch at Fish and Co. around 4:00 pm.

We then headed to the nearby complex and visited the infamous “Fountain of Wealth” at 4:30 pm.

It is widely believed that proximity to the fountain brings an abundance of positive energy, success and wealth.

So we walked around the center thrice whilst embracing the feel of vibrating water bursting out from below.

I’ve had an invigorating experience in here.

Our voyage searching for Night Safari starts from here. We took a double-decker bus bound to Orchard Road.

Alighted near the sophisticated Singapore Visitors Centre, Ton paid a visit.

We’re not off the course but we’re clueless of the next route to take.

So after failing to take a bus, we’ve decided to catch a cab.

Disembarked at the Night Safari (Mandai Lake Road) around 6:49 pm.

Lucky enough because we have a show to catch at 7:00. Running out of time, we failed to get a tour map.

After leaping off a couple of seats, we are now ready for the show.

Without a doubt it was good and a very pleasant way to start our evening tour with this exhibit but I thought there may be more to it than that. (Some of the animals didn’t show up.)

After the show, we’re queued to Hell.

Pardon my French but this has been the most fatiguing wait I’ve ever experienced. (For those who know me, you know how impetuous I am when it comes to this.) The stench of the tam**, loud vernacular talks and the unending crisscross, not to mention the inevitable cutting of queues by these people (grrr) really got into my nerve! (I experienced yet another tormenting time with one but I’ll spare you the details.) Enduring the worst, this was!

It took us an hour before we got to the tram ride. It was heaven! (I can finally breathe!)

Overall, this escorted tram tour was excellent. (Kudos to the Filipina who guided us. She even incorporated the Philippines’ water buffalo (kalabaw) in one of her spiels.)

We didn’t dare to do a scary walk through the trails. (Thanks again Ton for anticipating).

For a night blind like me, wandering around the zoo at night in the complete pitch black with very few lights in a tropical part of the world is thrilling. I didn’t get to see the milieu of these nocturnal animals but I loved every minute of it.

We did get a chance to catch the finale of the Bornean Tribal Show.

The fire-eating, acrobatic and scorching stunts are definitely a crowd pleaser. Most tourists are concentrated in this area. This performance sealed our wild night in the Safari.

At 10:00 pm, we found ourselves in a long queue once again. It was extremely infuriating! It took less than an hour just to get a cab! Whew!

We had our late dinner at the food plaza (Lavender) around 11:00 pm. At the Hive by midnight to rest our worn-out torso, relieved!

This has been a great day but will doubt if I’d go back.
